~This blog talked about the stock market crash or black tuesday. The economy was booming during war time with the production of helmets, tanks and weapons. People became over confident in the value of the socks and over invested, little did they know that everyone was doing the same thing,decreasing the value to little to nothing. Also the use of instalment buying,which allows people to pay for things over a period of time instead of all up front in cash. The Agricultural Marketing Act leant money to farmers so that they could continue to farm and stabilize the economy. This Act back fired when they over produced and had no one to sell to, America was not buying things from over seas and as a result of that other countries were not buying American goods either. During the Great Depression 90 percent of the stock value was lost. This blog was great and i learned a lot. I liked that there were lots of videos and pictures to help explain the concepts that were being talked about!
~The Great Depression of 1928 can be closely related to the financial crisis of 2008. The Financial crisis resulted in the bailout of banks by national governments, stocks falling and the suffering of the housing market. This resulted in evictions, foreclosures and unemployment. The economic downturn lead to a global recession.

~This blog was about gangs and the main reason that they came about. Many people from the lower class joined gangs because it was an easy way to get money, many had no other way of getting money to provide for their families. During the prohibition era people would smuggle illegal alcohol into speak easys and saloons. Alcohol was in huge demand on the black market, which allowed for gangs to arise successfully while making money. However as gangs began becoming more and more successful rivals arose, along with violence spread throughout the cities. This blog gave a great over view of this topic and i liked how there were so many videos explaining the topics, however i feel that they should have tried explaining the topics more in their own words rather than a video.
~When i researched gangs today to relate with this topic i found that it was approximated 27,900 gangs were impacting communities across the U.S. in the year 2008. The main use for gangs has changed over the years from alcohol to drugs. Gangs are the number one distribution of drugs throughout the U.S. Gangs use children because they cannot be sent to jail if they are under the age of 13, It is extremely alarming and sad that children are being recruited into gangs at such young ages. Today gangs mark their terriers with graffiti on building walls in their area.
